Martin,
I'm using Mozilla, so my answer is from that perspective. I've never used Thunderbird,
so I'm just guessing. However, since Thunderbird developed from Mozilla, it should be
"something like the following":

1. Open Thunderbird

2. Go to "Edit --> Preferences --> Helper Applications"

3. There you should find a list of applications that Thunderbird to open
various files

4. Locate and correct the preference for the *.JGP files
