Hmmm, I just tried it, and at first there was a long 
series of tones, then a clicking noise, and finally a 
voice said "Coordinated Universal Time 3:56" -- or 
something like that.  It was 8:56 p.m. PST.  Not quite 
what I was looking for.  Maybe Verizon in Orange 
County hasn't pulled the plug on their TIME service 
yet . . . ?
