Do you have a DNS defined in your configuration or does it depend on DHCP to
provide it? If you had defined DNS servers and LAFN changed their IP
address(es), your software would not be able to find the servers.
A whois lafc.org inquiry showed the DNS as:
Name Server:DNS.REXX.COM
Name Server:DNS2.LAFN.ORG
Name Server:NS3.REXX.COM
Name Server:DNS1.LAFN.ORG
Name Server:DNS3.LAFN.ORG
Name Server:DNS4.LAFN.ORG
Looking up REXX.COM shows:
DNS.REXX.COM 63.149.228.50
NS2.REXX.COM 63.149.228.36
NS3.REXX.COM 63.149.228.34
The record for REXX.COM was last updated on 2007-02-17. Per haps something was
changed there that is causing your problems.
