One possible hole in your theory, Peter: I never saw
those either. I have *no filtering of my own* in
effect, though this is not for lack of interest in
doing so. Largely through inertia and being in
between actual desired systems / system setups, I've
been accessing my mail through dedicated provider
online email gateways for the last couple years. The
mail remains on their server. Said providers have
their own AV | anti-spam stuff in effect, though I
don't necessarily know what it is. (Multiple
accounts, and multiple providers.) In one case,
though, it declares itself as some sort of
Norton-based solution.
