This in itself is not a problem. Sendmail is does a number of dns lookups
because that's what is does. It's only a problem if it never does a
lookup for smtp.roadrunner.com.
Exactly what command line are you using? For my tests, I used
sendmail -d -a tmp.msg -tsteve53@earthlink.net -fsteve53@earthlink.net
I'm using the following macro definitions
Dsslamain
Djslamain
DVsmtp.earthlink.net
The s and j macros make the generated headers look a bit better.
