I just assumed you had a laptop because of your interest in WIFI. WIFI is not
restricted to laptops but is the main reason for wanting it.

I think there are but if the computer already has a wired NIC you can buy a
wireless game adapter and plug it into the wired NIC. I have a "Linksys
Wireless-G Game Adapter" that I use with an old laptop.

There are network printers, I have no experience with them (there are people on
this list that do use them). I have a computer that is my gateway to the
internet (with a firewall) and it is also used as a print and file server.
