Subject: SCOUG-Programming: Background information on socket functions

Content Type: text/plain

Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Attached below are the manual pages for the socket and recv function
calls. Note that the return value from a successful call to recv is
the number of bytes read into the buffer. A return code of -1 is an
error; to determine the type of error we must check the value set in
the global variable errno.

The manual pages are in Adobe PDF format. The reader is about a 5 Meg
download from:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/os2/3.x/aro2e30.exe

When you install Acrobat Reader, it also sets itself up as a Netscape
plug in so that you can view Adobe documents directly off of the web.
