It might just be this San Diego connection, but

telnet -p 21 bbs.os2bbs.com
user anonymous
pskye@peterskye.com

gets me signed on however "list" then says

550 Directory not available

and in my browser

ftp://anonymous@bbs.os2bbs.com

says

Netscape is unable to find the file or directory named /.
Check the name and try again.

I can't remember the syntax for putting the ftp password in the browser
url.
