I don't care. It's your project. By that I mean you and Dallas. You
were the ones that said they wanted to do the port. Did I misunderstand?

>Oh goodee. Now I won't have to bring my CONFIG.SYS settings 'cause we
>can rely on you to make things right. (pun intended)

I just installed according to the directions. I may have even used the
provide install scripts. IIRC, there's a test application you can build
to test your install.

OK, work it out and decide which of you is going to cart around.

>decision, I'll decide on "get the P90 and 486's asap and get them ready

Unless you have time one your hands, I would not bother with the 486.

>why I had this thread on the BOD list). You're the SCOUG Treasurer and
>the machines are SCOUG fixed assets which you're responsible for.

Not quite yet. There are not listed on the Treasurer's Assets Master
List, so they don't exist as far as I'm concerned.

>-- 1. Is it okay with you as a P-SIG member to use the P90 and 486's on
>May 18?

I don't see why not. I can't image the Board complaining. You need to
talk to Sheridan when he returns and find out what the P90 includes.

>-- 2. Is it okay with you as SCOUG Treasurer to let me have the machines
>and prep them for May 18?

See above.

>-- 3. How do you suggest I approach the Board for approval to pick up and
>prep the machines?

Is this a trick question? Post to the BOD list?

>My "prep" would consist of making sure each machine boots, installing the
>EMX development including CONFIG.SYS mods, doing a "Hello, World" EMX

>and tar onto the machines. That's it -- everything else including the
>foobar snafus gets discovered at the P-SIG meeting.

I suggest you put some sort of project plan/task list together and think
about what else you might need so that the SIG does not end up staring at
an unusable box for the duration of the meeting.

Steven
