Thanks Harry, but I need some error checking which is why I want some
code in the middle. For example, if somebody put
SET TZ=JUSTDUCKY
in their config.sys I want to know what GMT offset the software will
use. DosGetDateTime should give me that.

It's a library routine in one of the C headers. I haven't looked inside
the header yet so I don't know what actually gets done.

Rexx has a TIME() function but it doesn't return the GMT offset. I
didn't see a Rexx Sys*() call that would return it either, so you would
have to write a DLL with a routine which makes the call and returns the
value. Given the "Hello World" level of what I need, it actually seems
like overkill to write it in Rexx.
