Yeah, that's pretty close.  Rexx, like Basic, can be considered a  
"simple" language.  Batch file language is a "real simple" language.  
 
But in some regards Rexx is quite sophisticated.  I'm particularly  
impressed with Rexx's looping statement -- "DO" -- which is similar to  
"FOR" in Basic but can do a lot more.  Fortran and PL/I also have "DO"  
statements, but PL/I's is more robust.  C has a similar statement but  
the way you write it is quite different.  
 
If you ever programmed in Basic or Fortran you can quickly learn to  
program in Rexx.
