I'm delighted to hear that Bob's presentation went so well. I was looking
forward to it, and glad it was both informative and entertaining.
Unfortunately, the change in meeting time coupled with the need to pick up
my son elsewhere interfered with my education schedule for the day.

I'm quite disappointed to have missed this - it was topic that would have
been truly useful to see a presentation on -a very practical real-life
topic
However, I have to disagree that Jerry's presentation didn't provide much
information. I always find it useful to learn what kinds of things Jerry
has accomplished, where he's failed, and even when I don't get a
step-by-step on how to accomplish a task, I always get a starting point,
at a minimum. Where I don't get specifics on something I really want to
know, I don't feel shy about asking.
Jerry also apparently enjoys doing the presentations, and from the
discussion at the meeting, it seems that he's quite willing to give more
focus and dtail in areas that interest us. We should all take advantage
of the opportunity and post requests for detail on what interests us.

Is it fair to view a REXX program as a step up from a batch file, while
PL/I is at least one step up from REXX in complexity and knowlege required
to use it, as well as the types of tasks that you should expect of it?

I wasn't aware of this. Can someone be a bit more specific on this?
