Updates from last month's column:

The WarpZilla team has released Mozilla 1.3 as of 03/14/2003. This is an update to Mozilla 1.1 or 1.2a that was demoed by Steven Levine at the Sept. 2002 SCOUG general meeting, and was mentioned in the May 2002 Mr. Know-It-All. Go to ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.3/. There are 2 files (take your pick):

  • mozilla-os2-1.3-installer.exe (now a self-extracting executable/installer)
  • mozilla-os2-1.3.zip (you must unzip it yourself into a directory)

More info is at http://www.mozilla.org/ports/os2/.

    Notes:
  1. A patch to fix some drag-and-drop problems was released as of 03/26/2003. Go to ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/warpzilla/13ddwdgt.zip. Unzip it and replace WDGTOS2.DLL with this new version.
  2. Steve Wendt's tips for WarpZilla are at http://www.os2bbs.com/os2news/Warpzilla.html.
  3. Another site that has documentation of plugin support on OS/2 is at http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/OS2.html.
  4. This release now has a spell-checker and a spam filter where it will automatically move junk mail to a spam folder.
  5. The recommended installation method is to install into a fresh directory; however, if you install over an older version, be sure to delete GKCONTNT.DLL (or GKCONTENT.DLL), if they exist, and COMPREG.DAT; otherwise you may have problems running WarpZilla after installation.
  6. MultiZilla version 1.4.0.3f has been released as of 03/30/2003. This is an extension that adds more features to the tabbed interface in Mozilla. Go to http://multizilla.mozdev.org/.
  7. Googlebox version 1.0 has been released. Apparently (due to the name), it is an extension to aid you in using Google. Go to http://multizilla.mozdev.org/.

SciTech SNAP Graphics version 2.1.4 beta has been released as of 03/28/2003.
