Jordan,

If you are going to stay with Netscape, I suggest you download and
install the last and latest update. You still should be able to get to
it from the IBM OS/2 website. Although it still has a few bugs, it's a
lot better than previous versions. Here are the problems I've
experienced on all versions of Netscape:

1. My bookmarks disappear.
This occurred a lot on earlier versions and not so much on the latest
version. My workaround is a REXX script to copy the bookmarks file
from/to the Netscape directory and to/from a backup on my D:\ drive. I
use it everytime I create a new bookmark. If I am copying from Netscape
to D:\, the script loads the bookmark file into Netscape and allows me
to review it before copying it to D:\. That way I can be sure that I am
saving a good and complete file.

2. My address book gets corrupted.
I have not had this problem since I updated Netscape. Nevertheless, I
have a REXX script for copying a good version of the address book to
D:\.

3. My mail get corrupted.
I have a script which I regularly use. I copies the current version of
my mail files to D:\. I keep 10 generations Netscape mail on D:\. Each
time I copy to D:\, I check to make should that it is a complete and
stable copy. If not, I erase it and restore my latest, good copy back
into Netscape. When that happens, I may lose a days worth of mail.
Honestly, though, I have not had this problem on the latest version of
Netscape.

4. Netscape often crashes if you try to empty mail from the trashcan.
The new version of Netscape has fixed this problem. No more crashes
here.

In summary: Update yout Netscape. Then, if you have to, create a REXX
script to regularly save your mail in generations. Hopefully, the new
version of Netscape will be stable as far as your mail is concerned.
Then, you won't have to create and use the script.

Hope this helps!
HCM
