George,
At this point you should be able to open the first "filler"
message and *then* also highlight all the bad messages.
Then you can move all of them, as a block, to the Temporary
folder -- and then delete the Temporary folder. This is an
easier method.
And if you have some other message that you want to delete,
you don't need the "filler" messages. First highlight the
message you want to delete that *doesn't* crash Netscape,
then hold down the Ctrl key and also highlight the "bad"
messages. Then just press Delete to delete them all.
