Just the other day, I received an mp3 file via irc. My first impulse was
to play it, but was unable for a lack of a mp3 player. I downloaded and
installed Z and thought things would go well. However, I've never been
able to get Z to function. Z starts, but when I attempt to exhibit a
playlist, nothing occurs. Thinking the latest Z is alpha, I uninstalled
and installed an older version. Same result.
Then my thinking turned to the mp3 file itself. The person I received the
file from is an accomplished computer user and os/2 user. That is, I am
assured the file is a bonafide mp3. However, the icon on the file is an
Enhanced System Editor icon and the choices to open when right clicking
the mouse are OS2 System Editor and Enhanced System Editor. Is my
thinking correct that this should not be? Further, in the Properties
Notebook for the file, the current type is Plain Text. There is no mp3
Available types listed in the Available types.
I know a couple of months ago when I was down for a help session, Steve S.
mentioned my file types were messed up. Could this be the cause for Z not
to load the mp3 file? If so, what corrective action is advised?
