Hello,
thanks for the bandwidth, I have a (serious) problem in setting up any
communication within my eCS.
Installed it proper on my notebook, it recognized the PCMCIA slot, I installed
with MTPS the 3C589D combo card, added tcpip/ip, netbios over tcpip and
netbios and everything is starting fine with the reboot, no error messages at
all, the connected router shows minor communication with the 3C589D with a
flashin LED, but I cannot even PING my router! Tried it first with DHCP on
(THAT is working with the same router perfect on my sons PC with an SMC card,
full eCS easy install and at once access to the internet via the router, so
that part must be ok), then added local IP, 192.168.0.12, netmask
255.255.255.0, tried nearly anything (WRONG!?) and have no success. The 3C589
IS working perfect in that notebook and enviroment with ubuntu and DHCP, no
manual setup at all ..., but who wants ubuntu, hihi, IF you want OS/2 ...
Ladies and gentlemen, PLEASE provide me a "recipe-like" instruction to get it
working.
Thanks in advance and Kind regards,
Gerd
PS I was so excited, after years with windoof at work/home (had to), to come
back to my loved OS/2, after I retired. I used it years ago up until warp3
come up ..., then had to change to mickelsaft ...
