Hi,

What the FAQ says for those that have not read it is
Q: My Software Subscription Services expired. Do I need to purchase a
renewal to get eComStation 2.0 GA?
A: No, you do not! As a Software Subscription Services subscriber, you
are entitled to receive the GA version of eComStation 2.0, when released.
This will be an ESD (download) with a mediakit available for seperate
purchase, if desired.
However, if you would like to access the BetaZone for the latest ACPI
updates and/or would like to test the latest Beta version of eComStation
2.0 (currently Beta 4) then you are required to have an active Software
Subscription Services.
The following partnumbers are eligable for the eComStation 2.0 GA version:
508438, 676128, 738271, 535591 and 535605.
This is all very reasonable and fair. As Mark noted, Bob announced
publicly that a set of SSS customers would receive the eCS 2.0GA when it
was released, he's honoring that agreement. He never stated anything to
this effect for the betas.
>but even though said subscriptions have expired now,
>we will all still be entitled to the 2.0 GA (and
>presumably to install same),
Duh.
>Does this make any sense to you, or am I missing
>something here ?
Yes. The betas and the GA are different products with differing license
terms.
>And I
>wouldn't want to waste my time on an install of RC-2
>just now, if our existing license keys may turn out to
>be invalid for it.
Your time is irrelevant here. If your SSS agreement has lapsed, you are
not legally licensed to install the beta if you do acquire a copy. It
your choice whether or not you honor the license.
