That would be my assumption . . . but you know what
some folks like to remind us about assumptions. ;-)

If Martin's (and your ?) experience is a good
indication, it looks to me as though the eCS installer
does not try to turn this on (or succeed in turning it
on) for an SMP-capable system . . . at least not by
default.
