SCOUG's September 2002 Meeting:
Celebrate 9 SCOUG Years
Browsers and Pizza
Free CD of the month! Free pizza! Come to the September meeting and you get both. Miss the meeting, and members get the CD mailed to them. The presentation will update us on what's new in browsers for OS/2 users. Tony Butka, Steven Levine, and Dallas Legan will each have a browser or two to try and tickle our fancy.
OS/2 Help Desk and Networking SIG
In October they both will meet on the first Sunday of the month, 2 PM, in Science room 203 at Chapman University. Join them!
The August Meeting
At our August meeting Steve Schiffman explained the basics of networking. He focused on independent local networks, calling his presentation a mishmash of useful information.
As SCOUG celebrates its 9th anniversary, it's fun to look back at all we've done. Begun by a small group of OS/2 enthusiasts, SCOUG grew to became a driving force in the OS/2 user community. Over a hundred monthly meeting presentations, many more special interest group meetings, hundreds of demos and help workshops and weekly chats, and numerous special events - SCOUG has an impressive history.

What's your OS/2 version? Tony wants to know. You can answer the on-line survey on the main SCOUG web page. Or, tell him at the September meeting as you chow down on pizza. |
Tony has just started playing with his new Epson C-80 printer. He likes it a lot. And, you know he can't wait to tell us all about it!
|
Download is your number one source for what's new that's downloadable for OS/2. You'll find everything new in the past month listed here, with links to take you right to the files you need. |
Maintenance of your OS/2 desktop is on Mr. Know-It-All's mind. He discusses what tools to use for what, making note of the ones he likes the best.
|
Steve Schiffman's August 2002 presentation outlines what you need to know for a small/local network, with lots of emphasis on Multi-Protocol Transport Services (MPTS).
